How can I use my Edmonds School District high school transcript for placement?

You can use your high school transcript to meet prerequisites for up to two years after graduation.  Click below for more information about meeting math or English prerequisites.  

English

Students with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher from an Edmonds School District high school can be considered for English placement based on their high school transcript.  The following guidelines for English and math can be applied during high school (for Running Start) or up to one year after graduation.

Math

KEEP IN MIND:

  • You can register for any math class lower than the placement indicated
  • If your last high school math course included two semesters, please use the lower of the two grades to figure out your placement.
  • If you place into MATH& 152, you will not have MATH& 151 on their college transcript unless you have earned AP credit. Please check degree requirements to see if you need credit for MATH& 151 to graduate.

What do I do next?

 Choose one of the following options:

  • Bring a copy of your transcript when you meet with an advisor to plan your classes.  If you are an online student, you can email a scanned copy to advising@shoreline.edu and schedule a virtual meeting.
  • If you want to register for an English or math class, you can email a scanned copy of your transcript to englishadvising@shoreline.edu or mathadvising@shoreline.edu. Please include the following information.
    • Your full name
    • Your Student ID Number
    • Name of the course (example:  MATH 099)
    • Name of the instructor:  (example:  Bogart, S.)
    • Item number  (example:  1187)

    If your request is approved, you will receive an add code for the requested course.

  • If you want to meet prerequisites for other classes using your high school transcript, please contact the relevant department.
