Volunteering & Internships
Enhanced global awareness can come from many sources and activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Volunteering and service-learning is an excellent way to enhance your resume and learn while doing. There are a variety of organizations and agencies locally and around the world that provide opportunities for enthusiastic and energetic young adults. Shoreline provides resources and support for student service-learning.

International Studies students are encouraged to supplement their academic curriculum with engagement and active learning provided by an internship in public, private, and non-profit sectors. In some cases, internships can provide students with academic credit towards their major.
