School Closed Mon. February 19th
Shoreline Community College will be closed Mon., February 19th, in observance of Presidents' Day. 
All offices on campus will be closed, and no services will be available to students or the public during this period. The College will reopen for normal operating hours Tues., Feb. 20.

Running Start Online Orientation


Do students pay any costs associated with Running Start?


A Running Start student is responsible to pay for:

  • Courses numbering under 100
  • Credits that exceed the maximum number of minutes/credits between the high school and college*
  • College credits exceeding 15 in any one quarter
  • Courses taken during the Summer quarter
  • Fees
  • Transportation
  • Books and supplies**


*Students can elect to surpass the minutes/credit limit if they are willing to pay the appropriate college tuition and if approved by their high school counselor. Students will be charged at the standard per-credit tuition rate for credits over the approved credit maximum.


**If you are eligible for free or reduced lunch at your high school, you may be eligible for book assistance and a fee waiver through the Running Start program. Please contact our office for more information.
