Academic Warning, Probation, or Suspension

Below is an explanation of what happens when a student's grade point average dips too low.  To avoid or correct that kind of situation, students should take advantage of

Financial Aid

If you receive any of the statuses below, and you are receiving financial aid, your eligibility for continued funding may be impacted. Please see the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

Academic Warning

A student whose quarterly GPA is less than 1.75 is given a warning. Students are encouraged to use the campus resources, especially meeting with an advisor and a success coach.

Academic Probation

A student whose quarterly GPA is less than 1.75 for a second consecutive quarter is placed on probation. A hold will be placed on their student record, preventing them from registering until they meet with a general advisor at the Advising and Counseling Center and submit an Academic Alert Contract

Academic Suspension

A student whose quarterly GPA is less than 1.75 for a third consecutive quarter is placed on suspension. A hold will be placed on their student record, preventing them from registering until they meet with the Associate Dean of Advising in the Advising & Counseling Center and submit a petition for reinstatement.
